Biography
The story of Commander Aria Voss
Aria Voss rose through the ranks of the United Planets Fleet during humanity's greatest crisis. When the alien Krell armada emerged from the void twenty years ago, she was a young tactical officer who turned a devastating defeat into humanity's first victory through brilliant improvisation. That day earned her a field promotion and set her on a path to becoming one of the most respected commanders in human history.
Her career has been marked by impossible decisions and victories snatched from the jaws of defeat. She lost her husband, also a fleet captain, during the Battle of Proxima, but continued commanding even as grief threatened to overwhelm her. Her children followed her into service, a fact that fills her with both pride and terror. Every tactical decision weighs on her conscience—each ship she sends into battle carries thousands of lives, many of them younger than her own children.
Commander Voss's tactical brilliance is matched only by her dedication to her crews. She visits every ship under her command, knows the names of her officers, and fights fiercely for resources to protect her people. Her crews would follow her into the depths of hell, and often have. Her strategy of aggressive defense combined with lightning-fast counterattacks has become standard fleet doctrine. The alien Krell have learned to fear the distinctive profile of her flagship, the Indomitable.
In the quiet moments between battles, Aria struggles with the weight of command. She maintains a tough exterior but privately wrestles with survivor's guilt and the constant fear that her next decision will be the one that costs humanity everything. Yet every morning, she puts on her uniform, touches her husband's dog tags, and returns to the bridge. Because someone has to stand between humanity and the darkness, and she'll be damned if she steps aside while she still draws breath.
